Volunteer Spotlights

Kai Johnston by Makenzie Johnston    

Kai has been attending Osco Community Church since he was born – fourteen years ago - and volunteers in the 2’s & 3’s, and as a youth helper in VBS and Awana. He enjoys playing with children and hopes to one day lead the 2’s & 3’s class on every now and then when he’s old enough. He also helps the men in the Wednesday Warriors Bible study group every month.

For hobbies, Kai likes to make YouTube videos, play with Nerf guns, play football, watch sports, and spend time with his friends. He would like to start running as well. When asked what he wants to do with his life, Kai said, “I want to serve God, get a job like what my dad does, and get a family.” His favorite food is buffalo wings.

Kai’s favorite book of the Bible is Ephesians, and his favorite verse is Ephesians 1:7. He says the most important lesson he’s learned in fourteen years is that life isn’t cheap. One thing he wants people to know about him is that he likes being around people, and he’s bored when he’s not socializing.

Chris Allen by Makenzie Johnston

Chris has been attending Osco Community Church for nine years. She volunteers as part of the worship team, as the choir director, and she also bakes cookies for events such as VBS. She lives in Cambridge with her husband, Earl, and two sons, Andrew and Brendan. Her daughter, Caitie, is currently attending college in Texas.

Chris’ hobbies include scrapbooking, reading, crafting, and sewing. Her favorite foods are steak and sugar cookies. The “Harry Potter” series is her favorite collection of books, and her current favorite movie is the recently released, “I Can Only Imagine”. As for music, she listens to K-Love on the radio, and she also enjoys a lot of musicals.

Chris loves Luke’s version of Christ’s life in the Bible, and her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:6. The most important lessons Chris has learned are, “be patient, stay positive, and be flexible.” Something she’d like people to know about her is that she’s a good listener.

Dave Rehn by Kai Johnston

Dave Rehn has been coming to Osco since 1982. He volunteers as a substitute teacher, as a Wednesday Warrior, and as a Pastors Prayer Partner. He volunteers for the reason that he feels led by God. Dave has been a Christian since 1983 and was introduced to Christ by Pastor David Knudsen.

Dave met his wife, Susan, in college. He has been married forty-one years and has one daughter. Dave’s hobbies are farming and running. His favorite book is the Bible and his favorite book of the Bible is John. His favorite color is red, his favorite animal is a dog and his favorite phone app is called “Waze”. Dave’s favorite memory as a kid was swimming in a pond with his brother. If Dave could go anywhere in the world he would go to the Grand Canyon.

Nick Juenger by Kai Johnston

Nick Juenger has been coming to Osco for forty-one years and has volunteered for that whole time. Nick volunteers for the reason that God has done so much for him so he wanted to do stuff for God. He volunteers as an adult Sunday school teacher, in the family Bible study and as an elder. Nick and his wife, Angie, came to Osco when they moved from Moline to Orion. They have been married forty-three years (forty-four in December) and have three kids, Amy, Bekki, and Sarah. Amy lives in Orion, Bekki lives in Tolono, Illinois, and Sarah lives in Dear Born, Michigan.

Nick became a Christian when a college friend named Ken, had a Bible study at the college. There, he prayed to accept Christ. Nick’s favorite sport is baseball and his favorite team is the St. Cardinals. His hobbies are walking and riding a bike. Nick’s favorite phone app is his weather app and if he could go anywhere in the world, it would be New Zealand.

Zane Downing by Makenzie Johnston  

Zane Downing has been attending Osco church for nine years and lives in Cambridge with his wife, Crista, and two daughters, Kendra and Emily. He volunteers in the Wednesday night Parenting Class and the Junior High Sunday School. When asked about his faith, Zane said he went to church as a child and accepted Christ along the way. As for any mentors in his walk with the Lord, he mentioned that he’s listened to a lot of great pastors.

Zane is interested in and enjoys farming, hunting, and shooting. His favorite food is meat and potatoes. His favorite book of the Bible is Proverbs, and his favorite verses are Ephesians 2:8-9. He agreed that at the end of his life, he wants people to know that he loved the Lord, then added, “And if they knew that before the end of my life, that would be good.”

Jennifer Johnston by Makenzie Johnston 

Jennifer lives in Cambridge with her husband, Ben, whom she has been married to for almost sixteen years, and eight children. She has been attending Osco for around twenty years. She volunteers with VBS, Nursery, the Senior Citizens Lunch, Sunday School, and Children’s Ministry. She chose these areas because she believes everyone has a place in the Body of Christ, and she feels these areas are the ministries she can serve.

Jennifer came to know Christ at age five, when her mother explained salvation to her in a way she was able to understand. Currently, her favorite book of the Bible is Hebrews, and her favorite verse is Hebrews 11:38. The most important thing she wants people to know about her is that at the end of her life, she wants people to say she loved the Lord.

Jennifer’s hobbies include sewing, reading, house projects, gardening, quilting, and she is learning upholstery. A hobby she wants to pick up is piano. Her favorite food is anything she doesn’t have to cook, and her favorite color is red. When asked about her fashion sense, which she is known for around the church, she said, “Life is better with a good pair of shoes.”


Bob Dietz by Kai Johnston

Bob Dietz has been coming to Osco for three years and has volunteered the same amount of time. Bob volunteers because he enjoys serving God and enjoys the work. He volunteers with building maintenance, and as a Wednesday Warrior. Bob has been a Christian for forty-four years. He was introduced to Christ by his wife’s grandfather.

Bob has been married for forty-six years and has two kids. He met his wife on a blind date. Bob’s favorite sport is baseball and his favorite team are the Chicago Cubs. His favorite movie is called, “A Few Good Men”, his favorite book is the Bible and his favorite app on his phone is Google. Some of Bob’s hobbies are woodworking and carpentry. Bob currently lives in Orion and if he could go anywhere in the world it would be Germany.


Louise Warren by Kai Johnston

Louise Warren has been coming to Osco for about 21 years. She has also volunteered for about the same amount of time. Louise volunteers as the church treasurer, in the nursery, Awana, in the kitchen, and in women’s Bible studies. In the past Louise has volunteered in the music ministry. She volunteers for the reason that God wants us to. Louise has been a Christian since she was five. Her parents introduced her to Christ aside frim growing up in church.

Louise and her husband, Phil, have been married for thirteen years and Louise has four daughters. Her favorite food is chocolate, her favorite sport is whatever her grandkids are playing and her favorite movie is The Sound of Music. Some of Louise’s hobbies are sewing, scrapbooking, crafting, cooking, and baking. Louise’s favorite book Is the Bible. Her favorite app on her phone is her Dunkin Donuts coffee app and her favorite animal is the cat. If Louise could go anywhere in the  world it be to see her kids, go south for the winter and New England in the fall.

Margaret Nilsson by Makenzie Johnston 

Margaret has been attending Osco her entire life. She continues to serve in the church kitchen from time to time preparing meals, and she also helps with cleaning, Bible school, Sunday School, and occasionally she plays the piano. Her fondest memories of the church are of the Ladies Aid. She remembers the meetings and meal preparations for different festivities. In the midst of those busy times, she still looks back on them fondly because of the fellowship, and the swiss steak. Her other favorite foods are pork chops and fried catfish.

Margaret has been married to Dick Nilsson for 68 years. They have four children: Mary-Sue, John, Diana, and JoAnn. The couple enjoys traveling when they can. Margaret’s hobbies include playing piano and accordion, visiting Colorado, baking, and gardening. Her favorite plants are petunias, roses, and lilies.

Margaret accepted Christ as her Savior when the pastor at the time, John Hedlund, was able to explain God’s Word in a way she’d never heard before. Her favorite book of the Bible is James, and her favorite verses are John 3:16, and Proverbs 3: 5-6.

Angie Juenger by Makenzie Johnston

Angie Juenger lives in Orion and has been attending Osco for almost forty-one years. She volunteers in Awana, the Ladies Leadership Ministry, Bible Studies, and church decorating. She has been married to Nick Juenger for forty-three years and has three daughters: Amy, Becky, and Sarah.

Angie enjoys painting, reading, going on walks, playing with her grandchildren, and decorating the church. Her favorite color is blue (any shade), her favorite movie is “The Sound of Music”, and her favorite children’s book is “The Giving Tree”. Instead of just one Bible verse as her favorite, she has a whole chapter that she loves; Psalms 121.

A retired teacher, Angie is now a wife, mom, and grandma. In 1975, she came to know Christ through the witness of her boyfriend, who is now her husband. The most important thing she wants people to know about her is that she is a Jesus follower.

Phil Warren by Kai Johnston

Phil Warren has been coming to Osco since the late 70’s and has volunteered since the 80’s. Phil volunteers in the church council, as a Sunday School teacher, a Wednesday Warrior, and as a trustee. He volunteers because he sees a need and wants to help. Phil has been a Christian for forty-one years. He was introduced to Christ by his first wife (who passed away in 2002), her cousin and her cousin’s husband.

Phil has been married to his wife, Louise, for thirteen years. Phil has one son who lives in Cambridge. Phil’s favorite sport is Nascar and his favorite driver is Dale Earnhardt Jr. One of Phil’s hobbies is woodworking, his favorite book is the Bible, and favorite movie is “Raider of the Lost Ark.” Phil’s favorite phone app is Facebook and he lives in Cambridge Illinois.

Lauren Vincent by Makenzie Johnston

Lauren Vincent has been attending Osco for as long as she’s been alive. She volunteers in Awana, VBS, Music Ministry, and the occasional event setup. She loves working with children and helping people in general. Her favorite thing in life is making people smile, especially children. She accepted Christ on the night of her sixth birthday.

Lauren is currently in college majoring in Agriculture Production Technology. When she graduates she wants to work with her family on their farm, expanding their cattle operation and poultry business. Something that motivates her is the strong, inward desire to be more Christ-like from day to day, and also her love of helping people.

For hobbies, Lauren enjoys kayaking, hiking, climbing trees, fishing, napping under the sun, stargazing on summer nights, working with cattle, biking; just being outside in general. She loves babysitting and going out to see movies, her favorite of which is Disney’s “Mulan”. Her favorite food is almost any form of pasta. She likes a wide variety of music, including Christian rock and hip-hop/rap, and occasionally some country and pop.

Katie Janson by Kai Johnston

Katie Janson has been attending Osco for eight years and has volunteered the same amount of time. Katie volunteers in vacation Bible school, Nursery, as an Awana sparks leader, and sometimes in Sunday School.  She volunteers because she likes to help people and with activities. Katie has been a Christian since her teenager years. Katie’s mom showed her Christ.

Katie has been married for eighteen years. She met her husband on a blind date. Katie and her husband, Scott, have four kids together and live in Cambridge Illinois.

Katie’s favorite food is fried catfish, her favorite sport is anything her kids are playing, and her favorite teams are the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs. Some of Katie’s hobbies are baking, painting, knitting, crocheting, reading, playing board games and hanging out with her family. Her favorite movie is “My Fair Lady”, her favorite book series is Little house on the Prairie and the Chronicles of Narnia. Katie’s favorite type of music is Christian and bluegrass, and her favorite band is Rend Collective. Katie’s favorite animal is the Black Panther and her favorite app on her phone is her camera.

Jim Parry by Kai Johnston

Jim Parry has been coming to Osco for almost forty-five years now. He volunteers as an usher. Jim came to Osco because someone asked him to come. His favorite Bible verse is John 3:16 and his favorite books of the Bible is the New Testament.

Jim has been a Christian for thirty to forty years . He was introduced to Christ by his family. Jim has been married for fifty years and has two kids along with his wife, Linda. Jim is a retired math teacher for Orion middle school and is their athletic director and a coach for the school as well.

Jim’s hobbies are coaching, his favorite food is steak, and his favorite book is the Bible. Jim’s favorite movie is “American Sniper” and he lives in Orion, Illinois.

Linda Parry by Makenzie Johnston

Linda has been attending Osco Community Church with her husband, Jim, since 1985. They have been married for 50 years and have two children, Tim and Jodi. Linda volunteers in the Senior Citizen’s Ministry, and the Women’s Ministry. Before she cut the number back, she used to help out in the nursery, Sunday School, and other ministries as well.

Jim and Linda live in Orion, where Linda enjoys reading, playing solitaire, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Her favorite food is pizza, and her favorite movie is “God’s Not Dead”.  She loves to read anything by Max Lucado, and K-Love would be considered her preferred music taste. Her favorite sport to watch is basketball, and the baseball teams she roots for are the Dodgers and the Cubs.
Linda came to know Christ as her Savior when she was in fifth grade. One Sunday at church, the message finally clicked for her and she was baptized soon after. Her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11, which says, “’For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.’”  If she could summarize her life in three words, Linda would choose: loving, trusting, and grateful.

Crista Downing by Makenzie Johnston

Crista has been attending Osco Community Church for eight years, along with her husband, Zane, whom she’s been married to for seventeen years. They have two daughters, Kendra and Emily. Crista volunteers wherever there’s a need, such as VBS, Sunday School, serving committees, and the parenting class that gets together during Awana on Wednesday nights. She truly came to know Jesus after she started coming to Osco for church, where she began learning what the Bible actually says, versus what the world says.

Her hobbies include reading, canning, and taking care of her family. Together, they enjoy hiking, farming, movie nights, and spending time doing just about anything. Her favorite memories from high school are being a good athlete in basketball and in track, where she even went to State. Crista’s favorite foods are pizza and potato soup, and her favorite colors are red and different shades of blue.

The most important lesson Crista has learned is to always trust in Jesus. Knowing God is in control over everything was very comforting to her when her mom passed away. Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:8, which says, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.”


Matt Carlson by Kai Johnston

Matt Carlson has been coming to Osco for almost two years. He volunteers as the Awana commander, and in the men’s ministry. Matt volunteers because it serves the church and the Body of Christ.

Matt has been a Christian for three and-a-half years. Coming to men’s ministries and Bible studies helped his decision to become a Christian.

Matt and his wife, Dawn, have been married 12 years and have four kids: Landon, Lynsey, Briella, and Brycen. He is employed by John Deere as a parts forecaster.

Matt’s favorite colors are red and black, and his favorite food is his wife’s homemade pizza. His favorite book is called “Shepherding a Childs Heart”. His favorite movie is “Christmas Vacation”, Matt’s favorite Bible verse is Romans 12:7. Some of Matt’s hobbies include house projects and Men’s softball.

Benjamin Johnston by Makenzie Johnston

Benjamin has been attending Osco Community Church since he was a child with his parents. He currently volunteers in Music Ministry, substitutes with Jennifer Johnston, and will be doing nursery in the future. His job is with Tri City Electric Company, working with electronic security systems in commercial and industrial environments.

Ben has been married to Jennifer Johnston for fifteen years, and they have eight children. His favorite memories are ones with his friends and trips with his family. His favorite color is black, and his favorite food is GOOD cheeseburgers. His music taste falls into the rock genre, and he has been a member of over eleven different bands, including Osco’s worship team.

For hobbies, Ben enjoys guns, guitar, and creating unique pieces of furniture out of wood and metal. He is a coffee addict, though he prefers to think of himself as a coffee enthusiast. His favorite place to visit is New York City, and he would like to visit Seoul, South Korea, and different cities in Europe.

Keith Hoste by Kai Johnston

Keith Hoste has been coming to Osco church for five years now. He has volunteered for about four years. Keith volunteers in children’s ministry, Awana, and the men’s ministry. He became a Christian in the 4th grade.

Keith’s hobbies are do- it- yourself house projects, reading, and wood working. His favorite color is blue and his favorite food is steak.

His job is a shop manager for an industrial contractor. Keith has been married for twelve years. He and his wife, Heidi, have five kids and live in Cambridge, Illinois.

Joe Perry by Kai Johnston

Joe Perry has been attending Osco for about seventeen years.  A man named Michael Trowbridge invited him and his sister one year.  Joe has been volunteering for 4-5 years.  He volunteers in Music, Nursery, and church projects.

Joe’s job is an I.T. Specialist.  His favorite color is blue, his favorite food is Chinese food, and his favorite book is called “Freakonomics”.  Some of Joe’s hobbies are guitar, shooting, and electronics.

Joe was introduced to Christ by counselors at a summer Bible camp.  Joe and his wife, Krysta, have three kids and they have been married for nine years.  Joe’s favorite Bible verse is 1st John 4:19 which says, “We love him, because he first loved us”.

Krysta Perry by Makenzie Johnston

Krysta currently lives in Andover with her husband, Joe, and three children, Kacie, Collin, and Connor. They have been attending Osco Community Church for about three and a half years now. Krysta volunteers in Women’s Ministry. She enjoys getting together with women of all ages to work through a topic together.

When asked whether she prefers coffee or tea, Krysta replied that she would rather have hot chocolate or apple cider. For hobbies, she enjoys quilting, scrapbooking, and cooking. Her favorite music to listen to is rock, such as Reliant K, and she also likes Casting Crowns. Her favorite season is summer, and her favorite colors are black and white. White Christmas is her favorite movie to watch.

When Krysta was growing up she wanted to be either a teacher, or a fashion designer. She now enjoys watching her daughter design clothes like she used to do. The most important thing Krysta wants people to know about her is that she loves her husband and her kids.

Andrea White by Makenzie Johnston

Andrea White has been attending Osco Church for about seven years. Her best friend’s mom was a pastor when Andrea wasn’t a Christian, which resulted in her getting dragged to church a couple times before the truth finally hit home. She volunteers in 2’s & 3’s and Cubbies, her favorite part is watching the little kids smile. Currently, she lives in Andover with her husband, Lance.

    Andrea works at Sam’s Club and a gas station. Her favorite movie is Disney’s “Hercules”, and her favorite book series is “Harry Potter”. Her preferred color is purple, and she loves sushi. When Andrea was growing up she wanted to be an author. Her hobbies are playing (saxophone, piano, ukulele) and singing, reading, and playing video games. When asked what the most important thing she wants people to know about her, Andrea made finger guns and said, “That I’m cool!”

Richard Vedvik by Kai Johnston

Richard Vedvik has been coming to Osco for three years.  He and his family came to Osco because of his wife, Beth.  He has volunteered for three years as well.  Richard volunteers in the sound and video department.

Richard was led to Christ when he started coming to Osco by Pastor Bob Ahlberg. Richard has one sister and is an uncle.  He and his wife, Beth, have been married sixteen years.  He has two daughters, Tori, who is eleven and Miranda, who is nine. 

His favorite food is steak and his favorite color is metallic grey.  Richard follows football and his favorite team is the Green Bay Packers. 

Amy Kayser by Makenzie Johnston

Amy Kayser lives in Orion with her husband, Aaron, and two chidren, Eli and Abi. She volunteers in Music Ministry, Women’s Bible Sudy, Young Adults Sunday School, Awana, and the Awana Parenting Class. She likes volunteering because it’s exciting to see other’s get excited about Jesus. 

Amy’s favorite color is purple, favorite movie is “The Last of the Mohicans”, favorite book is “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn”, and favorite food is pizza. She grew up wanting to be an English Professor, and is currently a track coach, substitute teacher, and a mom. Her hobbies include walking, lifting weights, and baking (especially pies). Her favorite place to visit is the outer banks in North Carolina.

Her parents brought Amy up to know Christ, and she accepted Him into her life in preschool. The most important thing she wants people to know about her is that she is nothing without Jesus, and she’s trying to follow Him.

Aaron Kayser by Kai Johnston

Aaron Kayser has been coming to Osco church for fifteen, almost sixteen years. He lives in Orion, Illinois. Aaron volunteers as a teacher, with Awana, and as a Pastor Prayer Partner. He became a Christian by being a counselor at Camp Timberlee. 

Aaron’s hobbies are writing, watching and playing sports, and watching movies. His favorite sports teams are the St. Louise Cardinals and the Detroit Lions. Aarons favorite movie is Batman, The Dark Night. His favorite books are the Circle Trilogy. His favorite food is shish kabobs. Aaron, and his wife, Amy, have two kids named Eli and Abi.


Kelly Akers by Kai Johnston

Kelly Akers and her family have been coming to Osco now for eight years. She has volunteered for seven years. Kelly volunteers as a Sunday school teacher, youth group activities, and VBS. She volunteers because she feels called. Kelly has been a Christian since she was ten years old.

Kelly’s favorite color is green her favorite food are tacos, her favorite sport is volleyball. Kelly and her husband, Tom, have been married for twenty-one years and have four children. Her favorite past time is reading.


Tobi Henschel by Makenzie Johnston

Tobi Henschel lives in the tiny town of Osco with her husband, Paul, and three sons, Caleb, David, and Luke. She volunteers in Sunday School, Awana, Women’s ministry, general support of Paul, and is the Children’s ministry coordinator. Children’s ministry is a passion of hers. Women’s ministry hasn’t always been a passion, but she was asked and wanted to do it. Her favorite part about volunteering is getting to know the people around her better.

Tobi accepted Christ at a young age when a guest speaker visited her church’s youth group. The speaker asked who had asked Jesus into their heart. She was curious and wanted to know more. 

Tobi’s favorite type of movie is superhero/action, her favorite food is ice cream, and her favorite place to visit is St. Louis. Her hobbies include reading, playing board games, and being silly with her sons.


TOM AKERS by Kai Johnston

Tom Akers and his family have been coming to Osco for seven or eight years now. He chose Osco because of the opportunity there. Tom and his wife, Kelly, have volunteered since they came. Tom volunteers as a Sunday school teacher, church van driver, youth group leader, and with VBS. He volunteers because he loves Jesus and its fun.

Tom and his wife have been married for twenty-one years and the live in Cambridge. They have four kids. His favorite food is every kind. His favorite colors are pastels. He is into music, and his favorite past time is writing. Tom’s favorite sport is baseball, and his favorite team is the Atlanta Braves.

MICHELLE BETCHER by Makenzie Johnston

Michelle Betcher has been attending Osco Community Church since fifth grade. She volunteers in Awana, handles the Osco Church’s finances, is the Missions Secretary, and takes attendance every Sunday morning. Besides enjoying Math and watching children change and grow, she knows that God led her to these areas. Her favorite part about serving is seeing the kids in Awana get excited about finishing a section.

Michelle lives in Cambridge. She is a Human Resource Specialist. One of her hobbies is collecting Holly Hobby dolls. Her favorite color is blue, favorite singer is Michael W. Smith, and favorite book series is Little House on the Prairie. Michelle was led to the Lord by her brother and sister, and her favorite food is shrimp.

ELMA "MOOCH" GAY by Kai Johnston

Mooch Gay has been going to Osco church now for seven and a half years. Mooch volunteers in teaching Sunday School, Awana, and helping in the kitchen, and has been volunteering for as long as she has been here at Osco. What she remembers most about volunteering is how important it is. She will keep volunteering for as long as she can. Mooch and her husband, Dennis, have been married for forty-two years and live in Andover, Illinois. Mooch has two daughters. One lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, the other lives in Andover, Illinois. She has eight grandchildren, six boys and two girls. Some of her favorite things to do include, swimming, biking, reading, and traveling.


HEIDI HOSTE by Kai Johnston

Heidi Hoste has been coming to Osco Church now for four years. She has volunteered for three years. She volunteers in the worship band, children’s committee, nursery, and the kids choir.

Heidi was led to Christ by a Christian kids’ camp leader when she was nine years old. She has six siblings. Heidi decided to come to Osco because she wanted to be involved with her community.

Heidi’s favorite foods are hamburgers and fries, her favorite color is red; she likes gymnastics. She and her husband, Keith, have five kids. She got into music because when she was little her family always sang songs. Heidi has been doing music for as long as she can remember. Her favorite instrument is the piano.



Denny Peterson has been coming to Osco for about forty years. He has been volunteering now for thirty years. Denny volunteers in the praise team, as a Sunday school teacher, and in Awana. His occupation is a farmer. His favorite food is burritos.  

Some of his hobbies are biking, playing music, and watching baseball. Denny’s favorite team is the St. Louis Cardinals. Every January he goes to Texas to visit his daughter & son-in-law and four grandkids. He has five children and eight grandchildren. He was born in Moline, IL. Denny has no pets. He served in the army reserves. Denny was led to Christ by an anonymous friend

CANDY SNOOK by Makenzie Johnston

Candy Snook has been attending Osco Community Church all her life. She volunteers in the nursery and women’s Bible studies because she loves babies, and has a passion for women to know the Lord. Her favorite thing about volunteering is having a lap full of babies, and watching women grow in their faith.

Candy’s hobbies include reading and playing flute/piano. Her favorite book is Love Comes Softly by Janette Oke, her favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice, and her favorite band is Rend Collective. Green is her preferred color, and her favorite food is fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy.  When she was a child she wanted to be a nurse and a mom, which is what she currently is.

Candy will be celebrating her twentieth wedding anniversary with Wade Snook in August. They live in Cambridge with their five sons: Carter, Victor, Taylor, Tucker, and Gunner.

ROBIN TUTTLE by Makenzie Johnston

Robin Tuttle has been attending Osco Community Church since 1986, and has been serving in various areas from that time as well. She started volunteering in the two-three year old age group because there was a need and her children were around that age. Two’s and Three’s is her favorite area to serve in, and she loves it when kids who used to be in her classroom still give her hugs.

Robin’s hobbies include walking, planning lessons, and reading; her favorite book is The Little Princess. Her favorite color is purple, and her favorite movie is While You Were Sleeping. She lives in Orion with her husband, Scott Tuttle, and her children are Jessica, Susan, and Michael.

CHUCK TUTTLE - by Kai Johnston

Chuck Tuttle has been going to Osco now for forty-five years. He volunteers with the food pantry, Awana, and as an usher. He has volunteered with the food pantry and Awana for ten years now. The reason he volunteers is because God wants us to help others.

Chuck became a Christian in 1972. He and his wife Vera have been married for sixty-four years and have two children. He has six grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. They have lived in Florida, Indiana, Colorado, and Illinois. 

Chuck’s main hobby is sports. He enjoys baseball and his favorite team is the Pittsburgh Pirates. He and his wife enjoy eating out together and Christian concerts.

LISA UHLRY by Makenzie Johnston

Lisa Uhlry has been attending Osco Community Church for eight years. She volunteers in Children’s Church, Vacation Bible School, and the Women’s retreats because that’s where she feels God has led her. It excites her to teach something new to a child and watch them get excited about it. Her favorite memory from serving is when the kids she taught in VBS carried a wooden cross on their backs.

Dan Uhlry is Lisa’s husband and they have been married for almost fifteen years. Lisa runs a daycare for children at her home in Cambridge. She used to attend Calvary Chapel and was lead to the Lord by the elder’s wives, pastor’s wives, and a women’s retreat that changed her life.

Lisa enjoys riding her bike, playing tennis, watching Football, and watching her son, Josh, play sports. Her favorite color is red and her favorite movie is Gone with the Wind. Some of her favorite bands/musicians are Hillsong United, Jeremy Camp, Journey, and she loves 70’s music. Her favorite restaurant is In-N-Out burgers based in California, where she used to live.

DIANA WALLACE by Makenzie Johnston

Diana Wallace has been attending Osco Community Church for her entire life. She volunteers in Awana, Sunday school, and the ladies’ Bible studies. When asked why she serves, she answered that God has impressed it upon her. He has greatly impacted her life, and she loves telling about Him because it helps her grow in her faith. Diana hasn’t put a limit on her time volunteering because it never ends. The areas she serves in might change someday, but she has no plans to stop.

Diana lives on an old farm south of Geneseo with her husband, Fred Wallace. The couple has been married for thirty-eight years. They have four children whose names are Eric, Andy, Scott, and Audrey. 

Diana’s hobbies include baking, reading (Historical fiction, nonfiction, and mysteries), gardening, and biking. Her favorite movie is How the West Was Won, and her favorite books are the Bible, Nightingale, and The Chronicles of Narnia.
